Exterior Basic Wash
A careful hand wash, done the way that does not put swirls into the paint: two buckets, clean media, and drying with proper towels rather than whatever is nearby.

Super Exterior Detail
Everything in the basic wash, plus the decontamination step that actually changes how the paint feels. Bonded contamination comes off chemically and mechanically, then the finish is sealed so it stays clean longer.

Winter, and what salt does
Iowa roads are treated from late autumn through early spring, and the brine that keeps the pavement safe is hard on a vehicle. It works into seams and under trim, sits on the undercarriage, and etches paint if it is left through a thaw and freeze cycle. Washing through winter is not cosmetic, it is the cheapest rust prevention available.
A sealed or ceramic-coated finish gives salt less to grab, and a regular wash schedule through the season does the rest. That is what the Maintenance Detail Program is built around.
Where the price lands
Both services are quoted as ranges because vehicles are not the same size and do not arrive in the same condition. A sedan that gets washed regularly sits at the bottom of the range.
